About Us

Troop 16 is a scout-led troop with an emphasis on our outdoor program. The scouts learn leadership and outdoors skills, responsibility, and self reliance in the wilderness using the patrol method. Our monthly camping trips offer scouts a variety of outdoor experiences in settings ranging from mountains to beaches. We have hiked sections of the Appalachian Trail in NY, NJ, & PA, the Batona Trail in the Pine Barrens, and have also enjoyed simply exploring state parks. We have canoed the Delaware River from near Dingman's Ferry, NY, to Trenton(not all in the same weekend). Whitewater rafting trips have included the Cheat River in West Virginia, the Youghiogheny River in Pennsylvania, and the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers in Maine.

We have also attended National and regional Jamborees and high adventure trips to Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, the Minnesota Boundary Waters, and the Florida Keys.

Our Scouts love to have fun, and we make Scouting an exciting and educational program.
